1. Drain the cooling system (see "Replacing the coolant").
2. Remove the timing belt and tension roller (see "Replacing the timing belt and its tension roller"), support roller and rear cover of the timing drive.

3. Remove the three bolts securing the pump to the cylinder block...

4. ...and remove the pump together with the rubber sealing ring.
Helpful Hint: Every time you remove the water pump, we recommend replacing the bolts that hold it in place with new ones, as they are prone to oxidation and may break off when unscrewed after prolonged use. In addition, the socket in the head of the hexagon bolt is relatively small and its edges are crushed when the bolt is unscrewed. When tightening and unscrewing a bolt with damaged edges again, they may be completely crushed, making it very difficult to unscrew the bolt. To prevent the bolts from "sticking", lubricate their threads with Loctite or similar locking compound.
5. Remove the sealing ring from the pump body.
Helpful Hints: We recommend replacing the sealing ring with a new one each time the pump is removed.
Before installing the pump, lubricate the O-ring with petroleum jelly to seal the connection and prevent it from sticking.

6. Install the pump into the cylinder block socket, orienting its body with the groove (shown by arrows) on the end of the body up, and secure with bolts.
7. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
8. Adjust the timing belt tension (see "Replacing the timing belt and its tension roller").
9. Drink the coolant (see "Replacing the coolant").
