Removal and installation the battery (Chevrolet Lumina 1)

Caution! The negative wire should be disconnected first and connected after the positive wire is installed; otherwise the battery may be shorted by the tool used to loosen and tighten the terminals. Disconnect both cables from the battery.


2. Remove the expansion tank (see chapter 3, section 6).

3. Remove the upper engine compartment strut (see illustration).

4. Remove the clamp from the battery case (see illustration).

5. Remove the battery. Be careful, it's heavy.

6. After removing the battery, check its bracket for signs of corrosion.

7. If you need to replace the battery, make sure that the new battery is identical to the old one: has the same dimensions, voltage, capacity, etc.

8. Install the battery in the reverse order.
