- A) Before connecting a booster battery, make sure the ignition key is in the "OFF" ("Turned off").
- b) Turn off all electrical consumers.
- V) Wear safety goggles.
- G) Make sure the booster battery is rated for the same voltage as the failing one.
- d) Yours and "auxiliary" cars must not touch each other!
- e) Make sure your vehicle's gearshift lever is in the "neutral" (if the car is equipped with a manual transmission) or in position "parking" (if the car is equipped with an automatic transmission).
- and) If the booster battery is not a maintenance-free type, remove the vent caps from the booster battery and place a piece of cloth over the vent holes.
Connect the red auxiliary wire to the positive terminal of each battery.
Connect one end of the black auxiliary wire to the negative terminal of the auxiliary battery. Connect the other end of the wire to "mass" your car (for example, to a bolt or bracket on the engine block. Make sure this wire does not come into contact with the fan, drive belts, or other moving parts of the engine.
Start the engine, and then, while it is idling, disconnect the auxiliary wires in the reverse order of connection.
