1. The engine does not start



When trying to start the engine, the crankshaft does not rotate



1. The terminals on the battery terminals are not tightened sufficiently or are oxidized. Check the condition of the terminals, clean them if necessary and tighten the fastening nuts.

2. The battery is discharged or faulty. Check the battery condition, charge it, replace the faulty one. After connecting the terminals, cover them and the battery terminals with a special compound or any plastic lubricant.

3. The starter electrical circuit is faulty. Check the power supply circuit and the condition of the electrical connections. Replace damaged wires, clean oxidized tips and terminals, and treat with a cleaning and protection agent for electrical contacts. Tighten the threaded connections in accordance with the specified tightening torque.

4. The starter solenoid relay is faulty. Replace the faulty relay or starter assembly.

5. Starter is faulty. Repair it or replace it.

6. The ignition switch (lock) is faulty. Replace the faulty part.



The crankshaft rotates but the engine does not start (the engine starts but stops immediately)



1. Engine starting is blocked by the immobilizer. Disable the car's security system. If after this the engine start remains blocked, you should contact a specialized service station.

2. There is no fuel in the tank (check the fuel level sensor readings, replace it if faulty).

7. The ignition module or its electrical circuit is faulty. Check the power supply circuit and the condition of the electrical connectors. Treat oxidized terminals with a cleaning and protection agent for electrical contacts. Perform diagnostics of the engine management system, replace the faulty part.



8. Low compression in engine cylinders. Check the technical condition of the engine. Repair the engine by replacing worn and faulty parts.

9. The timing belt is broken. Repair the engine.

2. Unable to start moving



In a car with a manual transmission, the clutch slips (the engine speed increases, but the car does not start moving)



1. The clutch release hydraulic drive is faulty. Check and flush the clutch release hydraulic drive, replace faulty parts. Bleed the clutch release hydraulic drive.

2. The clutch slave disk linings are badly worn or the clutch master disk central diaphragm spring is faulty. Replace the clutch assembly.

Battery charge indicator light does not light up when clamping is turned on



1. The electrical circuit of the generator excitation winding is faulty. Check the generator circuit. Treat electrical connectors with a product to clean and protect electrical contacts. Repair or replace a faulty generator.



2. The instrument panel is faulty. Perform diagnostics of the engine management system. Replace the faulty instrument panel.

While driving, various control lights on the instrument panel light up.

Perform diagnostics of the engine management system and other systems. Correct the detected malfunction.

Direction indicator indicator light flashes at double the frequency.

3. The valves in the expansion tank cap of the cooling system are faulty. Replace the faulty cover.

4. Thermostat is faulty. Check the technical condition of the cooling system. Remove and check the thermostat; replace if faulty.

5. The electric fan of the engine cooling system is faulty. Check the technical condition of the cooling system. Check the electric fan, replace if faulty.

6. The cooling system pump is faulty. Remove and replace the cooling system pump.

Glow ignition



Note: Pre-ignition is the premature self-ignition of the working mixture from a hot substance (for example, carbon deposits formed in the combustion chamber) or from overheated (more than 700-800°C) parts - spark plugs, exhaust valves, etc.


1. High engine crankshaft speed at idle. Perform diagnostics of the engine management system. If necessary, update the ECU software ("reflash"). Check and, if necessary, replace the throttle assembly and gas pedal position sensor.

2. Engine overheating. Check the coolant temperature gauge on the instrument panel and, if the engine is indeed overheating, eliminate the cause of the overheating.

3. Using spark plugs with the wrong heat rating. Replace spark plugs.

4. Carbon deposits on valves and in engine combustion chambers (frequent short distance travel). Self-cleaning requires a long drive at a speed of at least 90 km/h. As a preventative measure against carbon deposits, it is advisable to use the car more often on country roads.

5. Malfunctions that occur while the vehicle is moving



In a car with a manual transmission, gear shifting is difficult or impossible



1. Air in the clutch release hydraulic drive. Identify the location of the leak and replace the faulty parts. Bleed the clutch release hydraulic drive to remove air.

2. The gear shift drive adjustment is disturbed. Check the manual transmission and adjust the gear shift drive.

3. Breakage or wear of clutch parts. Check the clutch, replace faulty parts.

A vehicle with an automatic transmission does not engage a gear that matches the vehicle speed



1. The electronic control system of the automatic transmission is faulty. Using special diagnostic equipment, connect it to the diagnostic connector to determine the fault codes of the automatic transmission. Eliminate the detected malfunction.

10. One or more lighting or signal lights do not turn on



Individual headlights, taillights or ceiling lights do not turn on



1. The lamp filament has burned out. Replace the faulty lamp.

2. The contact of the lamp in the socket is oxidized. Treat the oxidized connection with a cleaning and protection agent for electrical contacts.

3. Electrical equipment wires are damaged or the tips in their connections are oxidized. Treat electrical connections with a cleaner and protector for electrical contacts.

Not all lamps of one circuit turn on



1. Faulty fuse or relay in the corresponding circuit. Check the fuse and relay box, replace faulty fuse or relay. If the fuse blows again, check the corresponding electrical circuit and correct the fault.

2. Malfunction of the left steering column switch. Check the steering column switch, replace the faulty part.
