Car tuning (Chevrolet Orlando 1)

Car tuning is a personal choice of each car owner, the embodiment of design ideas and technical improvements that can distinguish the car from standard factory models and make it unique.

As a rule, car owners attach great importance to the appearance of the car (exterior), that is why external car tuning has become increasingly popular lately. For most car enthusiasts, this concept comes down to installing a spoiler on the trunk lid or a plastic aerodynamic body kit. More "advanced" ones can apply airbrushing or vinyl graphics to the body, install alloy wheels and wider tires on their car, and install stiffer suspension springs. However, the possibilities for upgrading the car are not limited to this. Suppliers of original spare parts and special tuning studios offer a wide range of original parts and services to improve your car.

Car tuning can be divided into three main components: appearance (exterior), interior space (interior) and tuning of components and assemblies (engine, transmission and chassis).

But remember: making changes to the design of the car may entail a ban on its operation if these changes do not have the appropriate certificates!

Exterior

One of the most striking, individual and memorable ways to highlight your car is airbrushing. The flight of fantasy here is practically unlimited. In addition, the design you choose or even made from your sketches will match your character and style. You are unique, and your car will be the same.

Ready-made aerodynamic body kit (upgraded bumpers, radiator grille, sills, spoiler) less individual. But you can order an original and unusual body kit for your car from a specialized studio. True, in this case the price will increase significantly. The body kit radically changes the appearance of the car, but if you make a mistake with the design, the body can simply be disfigured.

An addition to the body kit can be a corresponding car paint job. If you prefer a sporty style, this could be stripes along the body and a number, like on racing cars.

Flames or abstract designs with a fast-paced design can be depicted on the body. Instead of airbrushing, designs can be ordered on vinyl and pasted onto the car. In this case, if the design is damaged, you will not have to repaint the car, but will only have to re-glue the design.

In addition to the aerodynamic body kit and design, the creation of the image can be influenced by such accessories as wheel caps or alloy wheels, original optics and headlight covers ("eyelashes"), glass tinting, as well as side mirror covers, bumper covers, moldings, deflectors, exhaust pipe tips and many other exterior parts presented on the market of spare parts and accessories for cars.

In addition to the aerodynamic body kit and design, the creation of the image can be influenced by…

Car glazing. The choice of options here is very small: tinting and, basically, that's all. But it is the tinting that should be chosen correctly. Remember that the light transmittance of the windshield must be at least 75%, and the front side windows must be at least 70%. Dense tinting of the upper part of the windshield with a width of no more than 140 millimeters is allowed. There are no restrictions on tinting the rear side and rear windows. However, mirror tinting is prohibited, and a windshield, whether painted in bulk or tinted, should not distort the correct perception of white, yellow, red, green and blue colors.

The front and rear optics should be a continuation of the car's style. There are many companies on the market that produce it. You can choose headlights and lanterns with both standard bulbs and LEDs. Moreover, LEDs often form some kind of pattern when turned off.

And one of the final touches that can make your car bright and noticeable at night is neon underbody lighting. All that remains is to choose the number of lamps and the colors that it will shimmer with, perhaps even depending on the music you are listening to.

Interior

The car's interior also offers plenty of scope for imagination. You can replace the seats with more comfortable ones with electrical adjustments or even a massage function. If you like your seats, but are not satisfied with the color or quality of the material, you can order interior re-upholstery from a studio. In this case, you will choose both the material and its color yourself.

Alternatively, you can decorate the car's interior by installing carbon, aluminum or wood inserts on the dashboard and door trim. Accordingly, the gear lever handle and pedal pads must be installed according to the inserts.

A wooden or leather-covered steering wheel can be installed. It can be sporty (reduced diameter) or classical. However, if the car is equipped with a driver's airbag, the choice of steering wheel will be limited to the original, or you will have to give up the airbag.

Neon interior lighting also looks very impressive, especially if you can adjust its brightness.

Chassis

Tuning of the chassis has several directions. One of them is lowering the suspension and increasing its rigidity. This option is suitable for lovers of sporty driving, since in this case you have to give up a comfortable (soft) ride in order to, so to speak, fully feel the road.

Another direction, on the contrary, is increasing ground clearance, which is more typical for SUVs. Longer springs and larger diameter wheels are installed here.

Another option is to install air suspension with height adjustment.

Transmission

There are also many options for adjusting the transmission, if you have the appropriate knowledge and experience: from simply changing gear ratios to replacing an automatic transmission with a manual one (or vice versa).

Engine

Engine tuning is basically an action aimed at increasing its power, which can be achieved in several ways.

1. Improvement of the mechanical part - based on increasing the volume of the engine cylinders. A rather complicated and expensive procedure that requires certain skills and abilities.

2. Impact on the working process in the engine - here methods such as changing the shape of the channels, combustion chamber and valves, using a camshaft with a special cam profile, and precise setting of the valve timing are used.

3. Setting up the engine management system (chip tuning) — changing the control algorithm and aligning it with new operating conditions.

The best result is achieved if all methods are used in combination, i.e. the valve timing is adjusted according to the increase in engine volume and the engine control unit is reprogrammed to ensure the appropriate fuel-air mixture.

But any noticeable increase in engine power requires making corresponding changes to the chassis, and most importantly, to the braking system, since the standard one in this case will operate in very difficult conditions due to the increased dynamics of the car.
