Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) — Replacement (Chevrolet Trailblazer 1)

            0

1. The TPS sensor is a variable potentiometer connected to the throttle shaft inside the throttle body. The PCM unit receives signals from the TPS sensor and determines the required amount of fuel depending on the angle of the throttle valve position.

Note: The TPS sensor is linked to the throttle actuator control system as well as the accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor, so there are two sensors in a single housing. If the actual throttle position and the TPS sensor signal do not match, fault codes are recorded in the electronic memory of the microprocessor.

Replacement

2. The TPS position sensor is integrated into the throttle body, which is replaced entirely. The procedure for replacing the throttle body is described in chapter 4.
