Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor — Replacement (Chevrolet Trailblazer 1)

            0

1. The absolute pressure (MAP) sensor is used to monitor changes in pressure in the intake manifold that occur as engine load and speed change. The sensor signals are sent to the microprocessor as AC voltage pulses, which can correspond to the closed position of the throttle (high vacuum), and completely open (low vacuum). Based on the sensor pulses, the RCM calculates the amount of fuel supplied and adjusts the ignition phases.

6.2. Disconnect the electrical connector, squeeze the clamps, remove the fastener and pull the MAP sensor out of the manifold in a perpendicular direction

3. Squeeze the sensor fastener, then pull and remove it.

4. Pull in a perpendicular direction and remove the sensor.

5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
