Front bumper impact bar (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Remove the front bumper trim. Go to "Front bumper trim" in this section.

2. Remove the power steering fluid cooler return line bracket mounting bolts near the center of the impact bar, if equipped.

3. Unscrew the bolts and remove the front bumper shock absorber from the vehicle.

Installation procedure

Note: Direct contact of dissimilar metals may result in rapid corrosion. Use proper fasteners to avoid premature corrosion.

1. Install the front impact bar using bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the front impact bar bolts to 22 Nm (16 lb-ft).

2. Tighten the power steering fluid cooler return line bracket mounting bolts near the center of the impact bar, if equipped.

Tighten

Tighten the coolant return pipe bracket mounting bolts to 10 Nm (7 ft·lbs).

3. Install the front bumper trim. Go to "Front bumper trim" in this section.
