Front bumper trim (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure



1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

2. Unscrew the bolts on the front wheel arch trim.

2. Unscrew the bolts on the front wheel arch trim.


3. Unscrew the lower trim bolts.

3. Unscrew the lower trim bolts.


4. Remove the headlights. See Section 9B "Lighting Systems".

5. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fog lights.



6. Remove the radiator grille. See section 9R, "Front Body Part".

7. Release the upper trim holders.

8. Remove the front bumper trim from the front fender by pulling the edge of the bumper outward.

9. Remove the front bumper trim from the vehicle.

9. Remove the front bumper trim from the vehicle.


Installation procedure



1. Install the front bumper trim on the vehicle.

Note: Direct contact of dissimilar metals may result in rapid corrosion. Use proper fasteners to avoid premature corrosion.


2. Install the front bumper side trim onto the front fender.

2. Install the front bumper side trim onto the front fender.


3. Install the upper trim holders.



4. Install the radiator grille. See section 9R, "Front Body Part".

5. Connect the electrical connectors of the fog lights.

6. Install headlights. Go to Section 9B, LIGHTING SYSTEMS.

7. Tighten the lower trim bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the lower trim bolts to 10 Nm (7 lb-ft).

Tighten the lower trim bolts to 10 Nm (7 lb-ft).


8. Tighten the bolts on the front wheel arch trim.

Tighten

Tighten the front wheel arch trim bolts to 4 Nm (35 lbs.in).

9. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
