Removal procedure
1. Raise the vehicle and place it on the supports provided for this purpose.
2. Remove the rack and pinion steering assembly from the vehicle. See "Rack and pinion steering assembly" in this section.
3. Remove the outer tie rod. See "Outer tie rod" in this section.
4. Remove the outer boot retaining clips.
5. Cut and remove the inner boot retaining clips.
6. Remove the dust cover.
Installation procedure
1. Install the boot.
2. Install the outer boot retaining clip. Install the inner boot retaining clip using the installation tool KM-J-22610.
3. Install the outer tie rod. See "Outer tie rod" in this section.
4. Install the rack and pinion steering gear assembly. See "Rack and pinion steering assembly" in this section.
5. Lower the car.
