You will need: the tool necessary for removing the subframe, as well as a 13 mm wrench and two 18 mm wrenches.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Place the vehicle on an inspection pit.

3. Set the steering wheel to the position where the vehicle is moving straight ahead.
4. Place wheel chocks under the rear wheels and lift the front of the vehicle.
5. Remove the front wheels.

6. Disconnect the outer tie rod ends from the steering knuckle arms (see "Replacing the outer tie rod end").

7. In the passenger compartment, under the pedal assembly, unscrew the clamp bolt of the terminal connection of the lower cardan joint to the steering gear shaft (see "Removal and installation the steering column").

8. Remove the engine splash guards (see "Removal and installation engine mudguards").

9. Remove the exhaust pipe (see "Replacing the inlet pipe".

10. Unscrew the bolt securing the tube retainer, disconnect the tubes from the steering gear and drain the working fluid from the power steering system into a previously prepared container or plug it with plugs.

11. While holding the upper stabilizer bar mount pin from turning, unscrew the nut and remove the upper stabilizer bar hinge pin from the front suspension strut bracket.

12. Remove the four bolts securing the radiator bracket support (two on the right and two on the left side).

13. Unscrew the nut of the front...

14. ...and the rear support of the power unit suspension to the subframe, holding the bolt from turning (see "Replacing the powertrain suspension mounts").

15. Unscrew the bolts securing the subframe to the body (see "Removal and installation the front suspension subframe").
16. Lower the rear of the subframe by 5-7 cm to allow access to the nuts on the two studs that secure the steering gear to the subframe.

17. Unscrew the nuts of the two studs securing the steering gear to the front suspension subframe on the left and right.
18. Raise the power unit slightly and move the steering gear to the right.
19. Remove the steering gear from the vehicle by pulling it out through the opening in the right wheel well.

20. Remove the rubber seal from the steering gear.
Note: Replace any seal that is severely hardened or cracked.
21. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal. Fill the power steering system with working fluid and bleed air from it (see "Replacing the working fluid and bleeding the power steering system").
22. Check and, if necessary, adjust the front wheel alignment angles (see "Checking and adjusting wheel alignment angles").
