The steering mechanism is removed for repair or replacement. However, keep in mind that the steering mechanism is the most important element of ensuring traffic safety. Low-quality repair of the mechanism can lead to serious consequences, so we recommend contacting a car service for its repair.
1. Remove the front suspension crossmember (see "Removal and installation the front suspension crossmember").

2. Using a wrench, hold the bolts securing the steering gear to the front suspension crossmember from turning...

NOTE: This is the location of the steering gear mounting bolts to the front suspension crossmember.

3. ...unscrew the bolt nuts, remove the bolts...

4. ...and remove the steering gear.
5. Install the steering gear and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

WARNING: The connection of the tubes to the steering gear is sealed with rubber rings. Replace the rings with new ones each time the connection is disconnected.
NOTE: When installing the steering gear, make sure that the rack is in the middle (neutral) position.
6. Bleed the power steering system (see "Bleeding the power steering system").
7. Check and, if necessary, adjust the front wheel alignment angles in a specialized workshop.
