Note: To protect the engine casing, as well as all units and assemblies located in the engine compartment, from damage by stones flying out from under the wheels, a plastic or steel shield can be installed on the vehicle upon request. However, it should be taken into account that this shield is not able to protect the engine casing from strong impacts against large road obstacles (large stones, stumps, curbs, etc.), because in this case he himself may be damaged.
The engine mudguard and crankcase protection are removed if they are damaged or to provide access to the units and assemblies from underneath the vehicle during repairs and maintenance. Additional engine crankcase protection is secured individually in each case (depending on its design).
You will need: a Phillips-head screwdriver and a 10 mm spanner.
