- Make sure that there is no wear and burnout of the sliding surface of the disc and plate. If the disk or plate is worn or burnt out, replace them.
Important: Before replacing new clutch discs, soak in the automatic transmission fluid for at least 2 hours.
2. Check the condition of the underdrive clutch piston (C3).
- Make sure the valve ball is not stuck by shaking the piston.
- Verify that there are no leaks in the valve by applying compressed air.
3. Check the condition of the underdrive clutch drum (C3).
- Using a dial gauge, measure the inside diameter of the underdrive clutch drum bushing (C3).
Important: Measure in different places and take the average. If it is greater than the maximum value, the drum should be replaced with a new one.
Inner diameter:
- Standard: 36.125-36.150mm (1.422-1.423 inches)
- Max: 36.200mm (1.425 inches)
