- Make sure that there is no wear or burnout on the sliding surface of the disc and plate. If the disc or plate is worn or burnout, replace them.
Important: Before replacement, soak new clutch discs in the automatic transmission fluid for at least 2 hours.
2. Check the serviceability of the downshift clutch piston (C3).
- Make sure that the valve ball is not stuck by shaking the piston.
- Check for leaks in the valve by applying compressed air.
3. Check the condition of the underdrive clutch drum (C3).
- Using a dial indicator, measure the inner diameter of the underdrive clutch drum bushing (C3).
Important: Measure in different places and take the average. If it is greater than the maximum value, the drum should be replaced with a new one.
Inner diameter:
- Standard: 36.125-36.150mm (1.422-1.423 inches)
- Maximum: 36,200 mm (1.425 inches)
