Removal and installation the ignition switch (lock) (Chevrolet Cruze J300)

The ignition switch (lock) is mounted on the steering column and secured with two bolts with self-cutting heads, so to replace it, the bolts must be removed with a chisel or drilled out with an electric drill. The ignition switch (lock) can be replaced without removing the steering column, but for convenience you can remove it (see "Removal and installation the steering column").

You will need a drill.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

5. Remove the cover from the ignition switch.

6. Remove the steering column switches (see "Replacing steering column switches").

7. Drill the bolt head of the switch attachment to the steering column using a drill and a suitable drill bit, and remove the ignition switch (lock) (for clarity, shown on a removed steering column).

8. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal. When installing the ignition switch mount to the steering column, use bolts and nuts.
