To do this, do the following:
- unscrew the nut of the upper ball joint pin and release the hoses from the clamps;
- bending back the petals of the protective cover 28 (see figure 4-1), unscrew the caliper guide mounting bolts and move it together with the caliper to the side;
Warning: To prevent damage to the hoses, do not allow the caliper to hang by the hoses.
- remove cap 1 of the hub and unscrew nut 2 of the wheel hub bearings;
- remove the hub 4 of the front wheel together with the brake disc 5 using a pusher;
- remove the front brake protective cover 28;
- remove shock absorber 27 front suspension;
- compress the suspension spring 13 until the lower arm 14 is completely unloaded, lowering the lower suspension arm onto the support;
- disconnect the ball joint housing from the lower and upper suspension arms and remove the steering knuckle;
- smoothly unload the suspension spring and remove it;
- remove the axle and disconnect the lower control arm from the crossmember;
- disconnect the upper arm axle from the crossmember and remove the axle assembly with the arm;
Note: Before removing the upper and lower control arm axles, count the number of washers on each end of the lower control arm axle and on the upper control arm axle mounting bolts so that they can be returned to their original locations when reinstalling the control arm axles.
- remove the rebound buffer bracket and crossmember as described above;
- press the ball joint pins out of the holes in the steering knuckle 26.
Assembly of suspension units is carried out in the reverse order of disassembly. When assembling the wheel hub, apply a layer of Litol-24 grease into the bearing separators 7 and apply it in an even layer into the cavity of the steering knuckle between the bearings in the amount of 135 g per knuckle.
When installing the cross member braces, tighten the inner nut until the gap between the washer and the bracket is selected, and tighten the outer nut to the torque specified in the appendix.
To prevent incorrect distribution of forces in rubber-metal hinges, tighten the nuts of the lever axles under a static load of 3140 N (320 kgf) of the vehicle. Then check and adjust the installation angles of the steered wheels.
