Antifreeze — General Information (Chevrolet Tahoe 1)

The cooling system is filled with a mixture of water and ethylene glycol. On 1987-1995 models, the coolant should be changed every 50,000 km, or every two years. On 1996 models, a special coolant (Dex-cool) is poured into the system, which does not require replacement for 250,000 km, or five years. Cars with Dex-cool in the engine are equipped with a label pasted on the coolant reservoir (see photo).

The composition of the antifreeze/water mixture depends on weather conditions. The mixture should contain at least 50% antifreeze, but no more than 70%.
