The cooling system is charged with a mixture of water and ethylene glycol. On models 1987-1995, the coolant should be changed every 50,000 km, or every two years. On models since 1996, a special coolant is poured into the system (Dex-cool), which does not require replacement for 250,000 km, or five years. Vehicles filled with Dex-cool have a label affixed to the coolant reservoir (see photo).
The composition of the antifreeze/water mixture depends on weather conditions. The mixture must contain at least 50% antifreeze, but not more than 70%.
