Always follow safety precautions when working with refrigerant.
1. Do not work with refrigerant in a closed room or near an open flame.
2. Always wear safety glasses.
3. Be careful not to let the refrigerant come into contact with your eyes or skin. If you do:
- a) Do not rub the burnt area.
- b) Wash the burned area with plenty of cold water and lubricate the skin with Vaseline.
- c) Do not try to treat yourself, seek medical attention immediately.
4. Do not heat or burn refrigerant cylinders.
5. Do not drop cylinders or subject them to impacts.
6. Do not operate the compressor without sufficient refrigerant. Insufficient refrigerant will result in insufficient lubrication of the compressor, which may result in compressor failure.
7. Do not open the high-pressure valve on the gauge block when the compressor is running. Opening the high-pressure valve will change the direction of the refrigerant flow, which will cause compressor failure.
8. Do not open the high-pressure valve on the gauge block while the engine is running. Opening the valve will create high pressure, which may cause the cylinders to explode and cause serious injury.
9. Do not overcharge the system. Excess refrigerant leads to insufficient cooling, excessive fuel consumption, engine overheating, etc.
10. Use only HFC-134a (R-134a) refrigerant.
11. Use only compressor oil 525.
Caution: Mixing oils intended for different air conditioning systems will result in compressor failure.
12. Use O-rings and seals only for the type of refrigerant used.
13. Be careful when tightening the connections. Apply a little compressor oil to the rubber seals of the fittings to facilitate tightening and prevent refrigerant leaks.
Comment:
- Do not apply paint, lubricant or corrosion inhibitors to the surface of threaded elements or surfaces of parts that come into contact with threaded elements unless specifically stated in the repair instructions. These coatings may alter the clamping force of the threaded element, which may cause failure of the threaded connection.
- To eliminate the possibility of damage to the connected parts, tighten the threaded fasteners strictly in the specified sequence and with the specified tightening torque.
14. Immediately install plugs on open ends of hoses and fittings to prevent ingress of moisture and dust.
15. If a refrigerant leak occurs, ventilate the room before refilling the system.
