Safety precautions when repairing the interior of the car (Chevrolet Aveo T200)

            0

Attention: all work on removing and installing units, assemblies and parts of the car is recommended to be carried out with the battery disconnected. In case of welding work, it is also necessary to disconnect the connector of the electronic engine control unit.

Attention: work related to the removal and installation of passive safety elements (airbags and seat belt pretensioners), should be carried out only after reading the operating instructions and with the obligatory removal of the corresponding fuse and disconnection of the corresponding connectors.

Warning: For approximately one minute after turning off the ignition (OFF) and removing the safety catch, the display and diagnostic unit (VID) can maintain a residual voltage, which may cause the inflatable airbags to open and activate the seat belt tensioners. If the airbags and pre-tensioners are not disconnected, maintenance must be started no earlier than one minute after the VEHICLE has been disconnected from the power supply. Otherwise, you may be injured. When working with the inflatable airbag module, always leave enough space to expand the module in case it is triggered. If there is no volume to expand, the module will move sharply in the direction of a person or object and may cause injury or damage to the vehicle.

Failure to disconnect the airbags during maintenance may result in unintentional airbag deployment, injury, or airbag repair.

Warning: When servicing, be careful when handling the VID. Do not hit or shake the VID. Do not apply power unless the unit is secured to the vehicle. All bolts must be carefully tightened to the specified torques and the arrow on the unit must point forward to ensure proper operation of the restraint system. A poorly connected and powered VID may move, causing the airbag to deploy suddenly, which may result in injury.
