Removal



Cadillac Escalade (models before 2005.)



1. Pump the refrigerant out of the air conditioning system.

2. (Models C69) Remove the air filter if necessary.

3. (Models C60) Remove the radiator grille. See chapter "Body".

4. (Models C69) Disconnect the evaporator pipe (4) from the distributor (6). Tightening torque 24 Nm.

5. (Models C60) Disconnect the evaporator tube from the condenser (1).

1 - condenser, 2 - evaporator tube, 3 - expansion jet tube.

6. Remove and discard the sealing washer.

7. To avoid contamination of the system, install plugs on the open ends of the tubes.



8. Using a special tool, disconnect the expansion nozzle tube from the evaporator tube.

9. To avoid contamination of the system, install plugs on the open ends of the tubes.

10. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Note: Apply compressor oil to new sealing washers before installing them.


11. Evacuate the system and fill the system with refrigerant.

12. Using a special device, check the connected fittings of the system for refrigerant leaks.

Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade (models since 2005.)



1. Pump the refrigerant out of the air conditioning system.

2. (Models since 2007.) Remove the upper radiator cover and deflector.

3. (Models since 2007.) Remove the air filter.

4. Loosen the evaporator tube connection. Tightening torque 25 Nm.

5. Using a special tool, disconnect the expansion nozzle tube (1) from the evaporator tube (2).

6. Install plugs on the open ends of the tubes.

Installation



7. Installation is carried out in reverse order.

Note: Install a new O-ring.


8. Charge the system with refrigerant.

9. Using a special device, check the connected fittings of the system for refrigerant leaks.
