Removal
1. Remove the instrument panel amplifier.
2. Remove the upper instrument panel brackets. Tightening torque 2 N·m.
3. Disconnect all wiring connectors from the mounting block.
4. Remove the transfer case control unit.
5. Disconnect the antenna cable from the cross duct.
6. Remove the cross duct.
7. If installed, remove the audio amplifier.
8. Disconnect the wire bundle from the dashboard frame bracket; do not remove the wires from the car!
9. If the heater/air conditioner unit is being replaced, remove the right side of the instrument panel frame bracket from the vehicle to access the unit. Tightening torque 50 N·m.
10. Remove the trim (1) of the instrument panel center support bracket.
11. Loosen the instrument panel central support bracket mounting bolt. Tightening torque 25 Nm.
Caution: Remove all instrument panel frame bracket components as a single unit.
12. Loosen the frame bracket mounting bolts. The left side of the car is shown, the right is similar. Tightening torque 50 Nm.
13. Loosen the upper bolts (1) securing the frame bracket. Tightening torque 50 Nm.
14. Remove the frame bracket from the vehicle.
Installation
15. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
