Removal
Caution: Please read the precautions when working with the passive restraint system.
1. Remove the instrument panel trim.
2. If present, remove the center console.
3. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
4. Remove the driver's side knee support.
5. Remove the lower instrument panel trim.
6. Remove the passenger airbag unit.
7. Remove the radio.
8. Remove the heater and air conditioner control panel.
9. Remove the accessory switch.
10. Remove the left side air intake grille cover.
11. Remove the steering column.
12. If installed, remove the cellular telephone communication interface unit.
13. If equipped, remove the door lock remote control unit.
14. Remove the diagnostic connector.
15. Remove the parking brake release lever.
16. Remove the instrument cluster.
17. Remove both windshield defroster ducts.
18. Remove the instrument panel wire harness.
19. Unscrew the bolts (3) and nuts (4) securing the instrument panel amplifier.
20. Remove all wire harness clamps.
21. Remove the instrument panel amplifier.
Installation
22. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
