Replacing lamps in lighting fixtures (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Attention:
  • Before replacing a light bulb, make sure the light switches are turned off.
  • To avoid burns, replace lamps only after they have cooled down.
  • Halogen lamps require special care. Do not touch the glass part of the lamp with your hands, hold the lamp only by the plastic or metal housing.
  • Use only lamps with the specified codes (see the corresponding table). For codes of lamps not listed in the table, please contact your dealer.

1. Replacing headlight bulbs.

a) Open the hood.

g) Pull up and remove the headlight unit.

Note: When installing the headlight assembly into place, fit the lower mounting tab of the headlight assembly into the hole in the vehicle body.

h) Disconnect the connector from the bottom of the headlight unit. This will make further work easier.



i) Remove the seal and cover of the lamp to be replaced.

(Replacing low/high beam headlight bulbs)

k) Turn the lamp connector counterclockwise and pull out the connector together with the lamp.

l) Remove the lamp from the socket and replace it with a new one.

(Replacing the daytime running light bulb, front turn signal/parking light bulb and front side light bulb)

k) Press the connector lock lever and turn the connector together with the lamp to be replaced counterclockwise.

Note: When installing, insert the connector together with the bulb into the headlight unit and turn clockwise until it locks.


l) Remove the lamp from the socket and replace it with a new one.

2. Replacing the combination light bulbs.

a) Unscrew the two screws securing the combination light.

b) Remove the combination lamp assembly.

c) Press the connector lock and turn the connector together with the lamp to be replaced counterclockwise (there is no latch on the rear side light connector).

Note: When installing, insert the connector together with the bulb into the combination lamp and turn it clockwise until it locks.


d) Remove the lamp from the socket and replace it with a new one.

1. Replacing low/high beam lamps.

a) Remove the two retaining pins from the top of the headlight assembly. To remove the front pin, turn it outward and lift it up. To remove the rear pin, turn it inward and lift it up.

b) Remove the headlight unit.

c) Disconnect the lamp connector.

d) Turn the replacement bulb counterclockwise and remove it from the headlight unit.

d) Install the new headlight by turning it clockwise until it stops.

e) Connect the lamp connector, install the headlight unit in place and secure it with two pins.

2. Replacing the front turn signal lamp, front side light and daytime running light system lamp.

a) Remove the headlight unit (see above).

b) Press the latch located behind the turn signal lamp unit towards the outside of the vehicle

c) Remove the turn signal lamp unit.

d) Press the lock, turn the lamp connector counterclockwise and remove it together with the lamp from the housing.

d) Remove the lamp from the socket and replace it with a new one

e) The lamp is installed in the reverse order.

3. Replacing the combination light bulbs.

a) Unscrew the two screws and remove the combination lamp.

d) Disconnect the lamp connector.

b) Press the lock and turn the connector of the desired lamp counterclockwise to remove the lamp from the lamp unit (there is no latch on the front parking light connector).
