A locking differential is installed as an additional option. Such a differential increases the ability of the rear axle to redistribute traction on the wheels when the wheels are on the road with different traction properties. Redistribution of traction is achieved in two ways. Firstly, the presence of a set of clutch discs on each side of the differential limits slippage between the wheels (limited slip differential). Secondly, a mechanical differential lock is used, which, when engaged, will cause both wheels of the axle to rotate at the same speed.
