Replacing the ignition lock cylinder (Chevrolet Lumina 1)

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the steering wheel (see chapter 10, section 21).

3. Remove the turn signal switch (see section 8).

4. Make sure the key is removed from the ignition switch.

5. Using pliers, remove the horn switch (see illustration).

6. Insert the key and turn the lock cylinder to the "Lock" position.

7. Loosen the ignition lock cylinder mounting screw (see illustration).

8. Remove the lock cylinder.

9. Installation of the ignition lock cylinder is carried out in the reverse order.
