The air entering the engine cylinders is cleaned of dust by the second air filter, which is installed in the engine compartment.

The operating principle of the air filter is based on mechanical air cleaning. The filter element is replaceable and made of special paper. It traps all solid particles that could damage the engine. As the filter element becomes clogged with dust, the size of the trapped particles decreases, but the resistance to air movement also increases. If the filter element is not replaced in a timely manner, the resistance may increase so much that the required amount of air simply will not enter the cylinders.
An elastic polymer coating is made along the perimeter of the filter element, designed to seal its connection with the filter body and prevent the suction of unpurified air.

When replacing the filter element, use a new part with the same catalog number as the one on the vehicle. The filter element marking is located on the side.

Recommendation. If necessary, you should search for a replacement for a filter element that has been discontinued or is no longer available for sale using the vehicle identification number.
