1. Periodically inspect the rubber elements of the windshield wipers for signs of wear, damage and cracking.
2. Move the wiper arm away from the windshield.
3. Press the retainer and detach the blade from the wiper arm hook (see illustrations).
10.3. Press the retainer (a finger is pressed against it), pull the brush down and disconnect it from the wiper arm hook
4. Squeeze the two rubber tabs on the brush element and remove it from the guide.
Note: The rubber element of the brush can be replaced without the use of tools.
5. Compare the new and removed elements. to compare their length, profile, etc. Some replacement elements consist of three parts: a rubber element with metal strips on the edges. These components are held together by small plastic bushings that should not be removed until the element is inserted into the brush. The bushings are lowered as necessary when the element is introduced into the installation position.
6. Pull the new element into the brush guide so that the clamps are located at its second (last) end. Secure the element in the guide with its clamps.
7. Install the brushes on the wiper arms, wet the glass and check the efficiency of the new elements.
