Heater Fan — Removal and Installation (Chevrolet Trailblazer 1)

Warning: The models described are equipped with air bags. Before performing procedures in the area where the passive restraint components are located, it is necessary to turn off the power supply to the SRS system. to prevent accidental deployment of the airbags, which could result in serious injury (see chapter 12).


Front heater fan



1. Remove the right instrument panel insulator.

2. Remove the glove compartment door.

3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fan motor.

4. Unscrew the motor mounting screws and disconnect the ventilation tube (see illustration).

5. Remove the electric motor and separate it from the casing.

6. If it is planned to replace the electric motor. disconnect the fan impeller from it. The impeller has a tight fit on the motor shaft and must be pried off with two screwdrivers when removing it.

7. Install the impeller onto the new motor, then place it into the heater housing.

Additional heater fan motor (if its presence is provided for by the design)



Warning 1: Allow the engine to cool completely before performing this procedure.




Warning 2: The air conditioning system is under high pressure. Do not loosen the couplings or remove components without first discharging the system when contacting an authorized or specialized service station. When disconnecting the air conditioning system couplings, wear protective glasses or a mask.


8. Drain the refrigerant from the air conditioning system (see warning above). Drain the coolant (see chapter 1).

9. Remove the auxiliary heater. Disconnect the electrical connector from it.

10. Disconnect the outlet air duct.

11. Unscrew the mounting screws and remove the fan motor.

12. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.

13. Fill the cooling system (see chapter 1), Contact a specialized station and charge the air conditioning system.
