Electric sunroof (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure



1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the headliner. Go to "Shaped upholstery of the salon ceiling" in this section.

3. Remove the drain hoses.

4. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

5. Remove the screws and motor.

6. Remove the engine control unit.



7. Remove the bolts and body from the vehicle.

8. Remove the rubber tips.

9. Remove the drain pipes.

10. Remove the sun visor stoppers.

11. Remove the glass stoppers.

11. Remove the glass stoppers.


12. Remove the sun visor.

13. Remove the glass and frame from the housing.

14. Remove the plastic trim.

15. Remove the screws and glass from the frame.

15. Remove the screws and glass from the frame.





Installation procedure



Note: Direct contact of dissimilar metals may result in rapid corrosion. Use proper fasteners to avoid premature corrosion.


1. Install the glass into the frame using screws.

1. Install the glass into the frame using screws.


2. Install plastic trim.

3. Install the glass and frame into the housing.

4. Install the sun visor.

5. Install glass stoppers.

6. Install the sun visor stoppers.

7. Install drain pipes.

8. Install rubber tips.

9. Install the body on the roof of the car using bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the hatch housing bolts to 10 Nm (89 lbs.in).

Tighten the hatch housing bolts to 10 Nm (89 lbs.in).


10. Install the motor control unit.



11. Install the motor using screws.

Tighten

Tighten the sunroof motor screws to 3 Nm (27 lbs.in).

12. Connect the electrical connectors.

13. Install drain hoses.

14. Install the headliner. Go to "Shaped upholstery of the salon ceiling" in this section.

15. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
