Removal procedure
1. Raise and secure the vehicle. See Part 0B. General information.
2. To keep the wheel balanced, you need to mark the position of the front wheel and hub relative to each other.
3. Remove the front wheel. Follow Section 2E, Tires and wheels.
4. Loosen the brake caliper lower guide pin bolt.
Important: The caliper does not need to be removed to service the brake pads.
5. Turn the caliper up and secure it with a strong wire or similar.
6. Remove the brake pads.
Installation procedure
1. Install brake pads.
2. If new brake pads are installed, they must be thicker than worn worn ones. Move the caliper piston inward if necessary.
3. Install the brake caliper lower guide pin bolt.
Important: Do not damage the outer piston seal when turning the caliper down to install the caliper lower guide pin bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the caliper lower guide pin bolt to 44 Nm (32 lb-ft).
4. Align the marks that were made when removing the front wheel and install the wheel. Follow Section 2E, Tires and wheels.
