Front wheel brake hose (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure



1. Raise and secure the vehicle.

2. Disconnect the brake pipe from the brake hose bracket on the wheel arches on both sides of the vehicle.

3. Remove the locking clip.

4. Remove the brake hose from the bracket on the wheel arch.

4. Remove the brake hose from the bracket on the wheel arch.


5. Disconnect the brake hose from the clamp.

5. Disconnect the brake hose from the clamp.


6. Disconnect the brake hose from the brake caliper.



7. Remove the brake hose from the retaining clips and the mounting bracket from the strut.

Installation procedure



1. Connect the new brake hose to the caliper using new O-rings and bolt.

Tighten

Tighten the front hose mounting bolt to the caliper to 40 Nm (30 ft·lbs).

2. Install the brake hose and secure it to the mounting bracket. Connect the brake hose to the brake pipe.

Tighten

Tighten the brake pipe fasteners to 16 Nm (12 ft·lbs).

Tighten the brake pipe fasteners to 16 Nm (12 ft·lbs).


3. Install the brake hose in the clamps.



4. Lower the car.

5. Bleed the brake system. See "Bleeding the hydraulic brake system (Manual)" in this section.

6. Check the brake system for leaks.
