Front brake hose removal and installation


Removal



Note: Removal and installation procedures are shown using GMT900 models as an example.


1. Raise the vehicle and place safety stands under the frame.

2. Remove the front wheel.

3. Clean the connection point of the brake hose to the brake pipe.

4. Unscrew the nut securing the brake hose to the brake pipe (1). Tightening torque 25 Nm.

Note: When removing and installing the hose, hold the brake pipe with a second wrench.


5. Plug open holes.

6. Loosen the bolt (2) securing the brake hose bracket to the frame. Tightening torque 9 Nm.

7. Remove the bracket and hose.

8. Loosen the bolt (4) securing the bracket (5) to the front suspension arm. Disconnect the bracket and brake hose from the suspension arm. Tightening torque 9 Nm.

9. Unscrew the bolt (7, series 1500) or (8, series 2500) fastening the brake hose to the brake caliper. Plug any open holes. Tightening torque 40 Nm.

10. Remove and discard the copper sealing washers. Do not reinstall the washers.

11. Remove the brake hose.

Installation



12. Installation is carried out in reverse order. After installation, bleed the brake system.
