Checking the parking brake shoe (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

1. Raise the vehicle and place safety stands under the frame.

2. Remove the rear wheel.

3. Remove the brake caliper together with the bracket.

Caution: Do not press the parking brake pedal when the brake disc is removed.

4. Remove the rear brake disc.

5. Replace the parking brake shoe if any of the following conditions exist:

• the lining wear has reached the wear limit line;
• cracking of the lining;
• oiling of the lining.

6. Adjust the parking brake shoes.
