Replacing the parking brake shoe (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

1. Raise the vehicle and place safety posts under the frame.

2. Remove the brake disc.

3. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the brake actuator lever.

4. Clean the work area with brake cleaner.

5. Loosen the two bolts (1) securing the brake pads. Tightening torque 15 Nm.

6. Remove the clips (2) securing the pads. If the clip is deformed, replace the clip.

7. Turn the brake shoe adjuster screw until the shoes are completely closed.

8. Align the open end of the pads with the flange of the bridge beam and rotate the pad until it can be removed.

9. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, apply high-melting grease to the contact points of the pads with the support plate.

10. Adjust the pads.

3. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the brake actuator lever.

4. Remove the clips (1) securing the brake pads.

5. Remove the pins (2) securing the pads.

6. Remove the lower return spring (3).

7. Clean the threads of the regulator screw (4) from corrosion; when assembling, lightly lubricate the threads with high-melting grease.

8. Turn the brake shoe adjuster screw until the shoes are fully aligned.

9. Remove the upper return spring (5).

10. Remove the brake pads.

11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, apply high-melting grease to the contact points of the pads with the support plate.

12. Adjust the pads.
