Rear Brake Hose - Removal and Installation, 1500 Series (Top and 2500 Series (Bottom)


Removal



Series 1500



1. Raise the vehicle and place safety stands under the frame.

2. Remove the rear wheel.

3. Clean the connection point of the brake hose to the brake pipe.

Note: The brake hose bracket is part of the hose and is not serviced separately.


4. Unscrew the nut securing the brake hose to the brake pipe (1). Tightening torque 25 Nm.

Note: When removing and installing the hose, hold the brake pipe with a second wrench.


5. Plug open holes.

6. Loosen the bolt (2) securing the hose bracket to the bridge beam. Tightening torque 9 Nm.

7. Remove the hose and bracket from the bridge beam.

8. Loosen the bolt (4) securing the brake hose to the brake caliper. Plug any open holes. Tightening torque 40 Nm.



9. Remove and discard the copper sealing washers.

10. Remove the brake hose.

11. Installation is carried out in reverse order. After installation, bleed the brake system.

Series 2500



1. Raise the vehicle and place safety stands under the frame.

2. Remove the rear wheel.

3. Loosen the bolt (1) securing the brake hose to the brake caliper. Tightening torque 40 Nm.

4. Remove and discard the copper sealing washers (2). Do not reinstall the washers.

5. Clean the connection point of the brake hose to the brake pipe.

6. Unscrew the nut securing the brake hose to the brake pipe (3). Tightening torque 25 Nm.

Note: When removing and installing the hose, hold the brake pipe with a second wrench.


7. Loosen the bolt (4) securing the brake hose bracket to the frame. Tightening torque 12 Nm.

8. Remove the brake hose.

Installation



9. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Bleed the brake system.
