Rear parking brake cable (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal



1. Release the parking brake.

2. Lock the automatic parking brake cable adjuster.

3. Raise the vehicle and place safety stands under the frame.

4. Disconnect the left rear cable (3) or right rear cable (2) of the parking brake from the equalizer on the intermediate cable (1).

5. Press the release tabs and release the rear left cable from the support bracket.

6. Loosen the nut and bolt securing the left rear parking brake cable to the rear axle beam bracket (series 2500). Tightening torque 22 Nm.

7. Release the parking brake cable from the guides on the vehicle frame.



8. Disconnect the cable from the brake drive lever.

9. Press the lock and disconnect the cable from the support plate.

10. Remove the left rear parking brake cable.

11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. After installation, unlock the automatic cable adjuster and adjust the parking brake.

7. Loosen the bolt securing the rear right cable bracket to the main gear housing.

8. Release the rear right parking brake cable from the Panhard rod clips (series 1500).

9. Disconnect the cable from the brake drive lever.



10. Press the lock and disconnect the cable from the support plate.

11. Remove the right rear parking brake cable.

Installation



12. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. After installation, unlock the automatic cable adjuster and adjust the parking brake.
