Before starting work on servicing the parking brake system, it is necessary to perform a locking operation (upon completion of the unlock) parking brake cable tensioner. This job will require two people working inside and outside the vehicle.
Blocking
1. Raise the vehicle and place safety stands under the frame.
2. Move the parking brake pedal to the maximum upward position.
3. Pull back the front parking brake cable until the pedal drum (2) is in the repositioning position.
4. Insert the screwdriver (1) at an upward angle through the hole in the wall of the pedal block, through the protrusion of the pedal drum into the hole (3) in the rear wall of the pedal block.
5. Slowly release the rope.
6. Proceed to repair the parking brake system.
Unlock
1. Move the parking brake pedal to the maximum position.
2. Pull back the front parking brake cable until the retaining screwdriver can be removed.
3. Remove the screwdriver (1).
4. Slowly release the front parking brake cable.
5. Release the parking brake pedal.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Apply and release the parking brake three times.
