Vacuum brake booster (Chevrolet Tahoe 2)

Removal



1. Apply the parking brake.

2. Release the vacuum in the vacuum booster. To do this, press the brake pedal 3-5 times.

3. (GMT900) Disconnect the vacuum sensor (1) and active amplifier (2) connectors.

3. (GMT900) Disconnect the vacuum sensor (1) and active amplifier (2) connectors.


4. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the check valve (3).

5. Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor connector.

6. Unscrew the two nuts securing the master brake cylinder. Tightening torque 33 Nm.

Attention:
  • There is no need to disconnect the brake pipes from the master cylinder.
  • Make sure that the O-ring remains on the brake cylinder after it has been removed.


7. Secure the master cylinder to the side with wire.

8. Remove the clip (4) securing the brake pedal pusher (1).

9. Remove the brake light switch (2) and brake pedal pusher (3) from the brake pedal (1).



10. Loosen the brake booster mounting nuts. Tightening torque 33 Nm.

11. Remove the amplifier.

12. Remove and discard the amplifier gasket.

Installation



13. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
