Intake manifold geometry change solenoid valve (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the intake manifold changeover solenoid (IMTC) connector.



3. Remove the upper intake manifold assembly. See Part 1C2, "Engine Mechanical - HFV6 3.2L".

4. Remove the three bolts securing the IMTC solenoid to the upper intake manifold.

5. Remove the IMTC solenoid from the upper intake manifold by first rotating the solenoid to release it and then pulling it away from the manifold.

Installation procedure

1. Install the IMTC solenoid valve to the upper intake manifold.

Caution: Before tightening the mounting screw to the specified torque, check that the IMTC solenoid valve is fully inserted.

Tighten

Tighten the intake manifold changeover solenoid valve mounting bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb-in).

2. Install the upper intake manifold. See Part 1C2, "Engine Mechanical - HFV6 3.2L".

3. Connect the IMTC solenoid valve connector.
