Throttle body assembly (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the intake air duct.

3. Disconnect the intake air duct from the throttle body.

3. Disconnect the intake air duct from the throttle body.


Caution: When disconnecting the throttle body wiring harness, the following precautions must be taken.


Do not use any mechanical tools such as a screwdriver to disconnect the harness connector (1) from the throttle body (2).

When removing the lock (3) of the throttle body wiring connector, be careful not to disconnect it from the connector.

Do not pull on the connector wires.

4. Remove the lock (3) from the throttle body wiring connector.

5. While pressing the connector lock in the direction indicated by the arrow (4), disconnect the throttle body wiring connector.

6. Disconnect the throttle body connector.

6. Disconnect the throttle body connector.


7. Remove the four screws securing the throttle body to the upper intake manifold.



8. Remove the throttle body and gasket.

Installation procedure



1. Ensure that the mating surfaces of the throttle body and upper intake manifold are clean and free of foreign matter.

2. Install the throttle body with a new gasket between the throttle body and the upper intake manifold.

Tighten

Tighten the throttle body assembly mounting screws to 10 N·m (89 lb-in).

3. Connect the wiring harness connector to the throttle body, making sure the latch and sliding lock of the connector are fully engaged.
