Removal procedure



Cylinder bank 1



1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the front exhaust pipe. See Part 1G3, Exhaust System - HFV6 3.2L.

3. Remove the rear catalytic converter. See Part 1G3, Exhaust System - HFV6 3.2L.

4. Remove the rear exhaust manifold. See Part 1C2, "Engine Mechanical - HFV6 3.2L".

5. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) from the knock sensor (2).

6. Remove the screw (3) securing the knock sensor (2) to the cylinder block and remove the knock sensor.

Installation procedure



Cylinder bank 1



1. Ensure that the mounting surface of the knock sensor is flat and free of dirt, oxidation, etc.

Caution: Do not overtighten the mounting screw, as this may result in improper functioning of the knock sensor.


2. Install the knock sensor (2) and screw (3).

Tighten

Tighten the knock sensor to 23 N·m (17 lb-ft).

3. Connect the knock sensor connector (1).
