Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Assembly (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the flexible intake air duct from the mass air flow (MAF) sensor housing.

3. Disconnect the MAF sensor connector.



4. Remove the screws (two positions) fastening the mass air flow sensor unit (2) to the upper housing of the air cleaner (3).

5. Remove the mass air flow sensor assembly.

Installation procedure

Caution: Make sure the arrow on the MAF sensor housing points in the direction of air flow.

1. Install the MAF sensor assembly to the upper air cleaner housing.

Tighten

Tighten the mass air flow sensor mounting screws to 2 N·m (18 lb-in).



2. Attach the flexible air intake duct and tighten the clamp.

3. Connect the MAF sensor connector.
