DT-48235 Intermediate shaft 1st/2nd gear synchronizer installation tool
Assembly order
Important: Before installation, lubricate all components with transmission fluid.
1. Install the needle bearing (5).
2. Install the 2nd gear (4).
3. Install the inner cone of the 2nd gear (3).
4. Install the 2nd gear locking ring (2).
5. Install the outer cone of the 2nd gear (1).
6. Install the 1st/2nd gear synchronizer using DT-48235 and a hydraulic press.
Important:
- It is important to correctly align the synchronizer with the gear and the recesses in the locking ring.
- Observe the orientation of the synchronizer. The synchronizer shoulder faces the 1st gear pinion.
7. Install the thrust ring (2) and bearing ring (1) using DT-48235 and a hydraulic press.
8. Install the outer cone of the 1st gear (3).
9. Install the 1st gear locking ring (2).
10. Install the inner cone of the 1st gear pinion (1).
Important: The bearing shells in both roller bearings must fit into the 1st gear pinion.
11. Install the roller bearing.
12. Install 1st gear.
13. Install the roller bearing.
14. Install the thrust ring using DT-48235 and a hydraulic press.
