Front heater (all models)



1. The heater radiator is installed on the right side of the car under the dashboard. The air intake and heater hoses are located in the engine compartment.

2. Disconnect the battery from ground.

3. Disconnect the wiring and fan hose (see photo).

4. On some vehicles, remove the glove box and right side trim. On pre-1995 models, disconnect the wiring connectors from the electronic unit. Remove the bolt on the right side of the instrument panel. Pull back the corner of the instrument panel to create enough space, remove the fan mounting screws and remove the electric motor with the impeller (see photo).

6 Installation is carried out in reverse order.

7. On 1992 and later models, to remove the fan, follow these steps:
  • a) Cut off a piece of the plastic tip (about 6 mm long) on the end of the electric motor shaft.
  • b). Use a puller to press the impeller off the electric motor shaft.
  • c). The impeller is put on the shaft by hand. After installing the impeller, there should be a gap of about 6 mm between the fan mounting plate and the impeller.

8. Disconnect the battery from ground.

9. Remove the right rear cabin trim.

10. Disconnect the wires from the fan.

11. Loosen the mounting screws and remove the fan.

12. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
