Front heater
Models 1987-1994
1. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
2. Remove the coolant reservoir.
3. Disconnect the cooling system hoses from the heater radiator (see photo), lift them up and secure.
4. Turn away screws/nuts of fastening of the case of a heater in a motor compartment.
5. Remove lining and glove box door.
6. Designate and disconnect from a heater cables or drafts.
7. Remove the computer (ECM block) and its mounting bracket.
8. On parts of vehicles, disconnect the antenna cable from the mast.
9. Remove the right side panel, remove the lower right corner of the instrument panel from the fasteners. Move the heater back and disconnect the wiring harness.
10. Turn away screws/nuts fastening a heater to the case (see photo).
11. Get the heater case from the car.
12. Turn away a bolt, unbend brackets and remove a radiator (see photo).
13. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Models since 1995
14. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
15. Drain the coolant.
16. Disconnect the connectors from the heater fan motor.
17. Remove the middle air duct from under the instrument panel.
18. Remove the right lower side panel.
19. Remove the fan cover.
20. Remove the impeller motor.
21. Disconnect the steering column, slightly tilt the column.
22. Turn away bolts of fastening of a panel of devices, turn and take away a panel of devices upwards.
23. Remove the coolant reservoir in the engine compartment.
24. Disconnect the heater hoses in the engine compartment.
25. Holding the heater housing, unscrew the screw securing the housing under the niche of the engine compartment, next to the evaporator tube.
26. Turn away 4 screws and 2 nuts of fastening of the case to a wall of a niche of a motor compartment.
27. Remove the interior heater housing from under the instrument panel,
28. Remove the 7 screws securing the cover to the case and remove the cover.
29. Remove the heater core.
30. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Rear auxiliary interior heater (Suburban models)
Attention! 1. If the car is equipped with an additional air conditioning system, then it should be depressurized in a car service.
2. The auxiliary air conditioner evaporator is installed in the rear heater housing, together with a radiator and a fan.
31. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
32. Remove a decorative overlay of the right back facing of a cabin.
33. Remove facing of an aperture of the right back wheel.
34. Working under the right rear of the vehicle, disconnect the cooling system hoses from the heater core and plug them. Drain the fluid from the heater core into a drip pan.
35. Disconnect the wiring from the fan.
36. Remove the drain valve.
37. Turn away bolts and nuts of fastening and remove cases together with a radiator.
38. Remove the brackets, unscrew the nuts and remove the housing from the heater radiator.
39. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
