Ignition key (Cadillac Escalade) |
Ignition key (Chevrolet Tahoe, Avalanche) |
Remote control key fob transmitter for central locking system
The ignition key allows you to start the engine and unlock the doors, including the rear door.
2. All models are equipped with an immobilizer, which helps prevent theft of the car. This system does not allow the engine to be started with another key or by short-circuiting the ignition switch wires. The engine will only start if the identification code of the ignition key matches the registered one.
The immobilizer indicator will come on when the key is turned to the "ON" position and should go out after approximately five seconds, informing the driver that the system is operational and the engine can be started.
Caution: When the ignition key is in the "ON" position, do not place magnets or metal objects near it.
Caution: Do not damage the key with a knife, keychain or other means, as if the built-in microcircuit is damaged, the key will not be able to start the engine.

If the indicator continues to flash for more than five seconds, it is possible that the engine is started with the wrong key or the immobilizer is faulty. In this case, wait about ten minutes (the immobilizer indicator should go out) and try to start the engine again. If the engine does not start, contact your dealer to have the problem corrected.
3. To open/close the driver's door and front passenger door lock, insert the key into the door lock from the outside and turn it forward/backward.

The front doors can be locked from the outside without a key. To do this, move the door lock lever from the inside to the "LOCK" position (red mark), pull the door release handle and, holding the handle, close the door.

From the inside, the doors are unlocked as follows: move the door lock lever to the "UNLOCK" position, pull the door opening handle and unlock the door.
4. Locking and unlocking the doors using the main central locking switch.
In the passenger compartment, the driver's door panel has a central locking master switch, located as shown in the figure. When the right side of the switch is pressed, the side door and rear door locks are automatically locked, so that the doors cannot be opened from the inside or outside of the vehicle. When the left side of the switch is pressed, the side door and rear door locks are automatically unlocked, so that the doors can be opened from both the outside and inside.

5. Door lock delay function.
If one of the doors is opened when the door locks are locked using the remote central locking system or the central locking main switch (including the back), the door lock delay function will be activated. A beep will sound three times. The doors will be locked automatically within five seconds after the door is closed.
6. Automatic door lock/unlock function.
Using the multifunctional display, you can turn on (or turn off) automatic door locking/unlocking function under various conditions (depending on the speed of movement, the position of the automatic transmission selector, etc). For more details, see "Multifunction Display (dIC system)".
7. Some modifications are equipped with a remote control system for the central lock. Unlocking and locking of the side doors and the rear door is carried out by pressing the corresponding button on the key fob transmitter.
Note: In addition to locking / unlocking doors, you can use the multi-function display to set additional functions for the "LOCK" and "UNLOCK" buttons of the central lock remote control keyfob (see the section "Multi-function display (dIC system)" of this chapter).

The distance to the car should be no more than 30 m.
Attention:
- If the central lock does not work, then the transmitter battery is discharged.
- Do not expose the key fob transmitter to any impact, liquids or direct sunlight.
- a) When you press the "LOCK" button, the side doors and rear door are automatically locked, so they cannot be opened from the inside or outside of the car.
Note: The central locking will not work if the ignition key is in the ignition switch or if any of the doors are not closed properly. In this case, check all the doors and close the open one.
- b) Pressing the "UNLOCK" button once automatically unlocks the driver's door so that the door can be opened from both the outside and the inside. Pressing it again (within 3 seconds) the "UNLOCK" button automatically unlocks all other doors, so they can be opened from both the outside and the inside.
Note:
- When the door locks are unlocked, the local lighting lamps and the interior lighting lamp come on for 15 seconds.
- If 30 seconds have passed after unlocking the doors using the transmitter and none of the doors have been opened, they will lock automatically.
- c) The "PANIC" system is designed to attract attention to your car to prevent theft or damage to your car. The main switch of the system is located on the key fob transmitter. When you press the "PANIC" button, the sound and light alarm in your car is turned on for half a minute. To turn off the system, you must press the "PANIC" button again or start the engine.
8. The car is equipped with an additional lock for the rear side doors. This function allows you to lock the door so that it can only be opened from the outside. It is recommended to use this function whenever there are small children in the car. To lock the door, move the lever to the upper position and close the door.

Replacing the battery of the remote control transmitter key fob of the central locking system
1. Using a flat-head screwdriver, separate the housing of the key fob transmitter.
2. Remove the old battery from the case, noting the polarity. Install the new battery, observing the polarity (the "+" side should be on top).
