Recommendation. During engine operation, a small amount of engine oil consumption is allowed. The more often you check its level, the sooner you will be able to notice an abnormal increase in oil consumption. This will allow you to identify and eliminate the malfunction in a timely manner. It is advisable to check the engine oil level every time before leaving, especially since it does not take much time. If this is not possible, then check the level at least once a week. In extreme cases, the engine oil level must be checked at least every 1000 km.
Warning: Check the oil level only when the engine is off. To avoid engine damage, do not add oil above the maximum level or allow it to fall below the minimum level.
Check the oil level with the engine off and at least 10 minutes after it has stopped (so that the maximum amount of oil flows into the pan).
We check the engine oil level in the following order.
1. Prepare the car for maintenance and repair, place it on a level surface.
2. To check, remove the level indicator from the cylinder block.
3. Wipe the indicator with a clean cloth.
4. Insert the level indicator back into the hole in the cylinder block until it stops. Then we remove the level indicator again. The oil level should be between the MIN and MAX marks.
Recommendation. Top up with dexos 2 oil only. As a last resort, new ACEA A3/B4 or A3/B3 quality oil with the appropriate viscosity can be used for topping up. It is important to take into account that the total amount of such oil added between scheduled replacements should not be more than 1 liter.
5. If the level has dropped to the MIN mark or below, add oil. To do this, turn the oil filler cap counterclockwise and open it.
6. Add engine oil through a funnel, monitoring the level using the indicator.
Recommendation. To avoid accidentally pouring too much oil into the engine, add it in small portions, checking the level each time. Before checking, pause for about one minute to allow most of the added oil to drain into the oil pan. To check the oil level finally, you must wait at least 10 minutes to allow all the oil to drain.
7. Having brought the oil level up to the norm, install the cap on the oil filler neck.
