Engine management system (Chevrolet Orlando 1)

The electronic engine control system (EECS) is a complex system designed to prepare the fuel-air mixture in the proportion and quantity required for various engine operating modes, supply this mixture to the cylinders and ignite it. The engine management system includes an electronic control unit (ECU), information sensors (based on their signals, the ECU determines the engine operating mode) and actuators (serve directly to change the composition and quantity of the fuel-air mixture supplied to the engine cylinders and the moment of its ignition).

Depending on the functional purpose, the engine control system is divided into:

• electronic control system;
• air intake system;
• fuel supply system;
• ignition system;
• variable valve timing system;
• emission control system.

Fuel and air filters are used to clean the fuel and air entering the engine cylinders. The fuel filter is assembled with the fuel module and is located in the fuel tank.
