2. Remove the ends from the steering linkages (see subsection 19).
3. Cut the clamps of the covers. Clamps can be thrown away (see illustration).
20.3. Using side cutters, cut the clamps of the steering gear covers
4. Mark the location of the alignment marks on the boots and steering gear (one arrow mark is located on the back of each case, and two marks are located next to it). Remove the covers.
5. Install a new clamp on the inner end of the boot.
6. Lubricate the tie rod groove with multi-purpose grease (where the outer edge of the cover is located). Also lubricate the mounting grooves on the steering gearbox (where the inner edge of the cover will be clamped).
7. Align the marks on the boot and steering gear and pull the new boot onto the steering gear housing.
8. Make sure the boot is not twisted, then tighten the new inner clamp using the special tool (which is available for free sale).
9. Install and tighten the outer clamps.
10. Install the tie rod ends.
11. Check and, if necessary, correct the angles of the front wheels.
