1. The casing contains a bearing that supports the right end of the intermediate drive shaft. On all-wheel drive models with electric shifting, the casing also contains a fork and clutch, which are used to connect and disconnect the front right drive shaft.
2. Loosen the wheel nuts, raise the vehicle, install vertical supports and remove the right front wheel.
3. Remove the mudguard.
4. Remove the right drive shaft (see subsection 12).
5. When performing the procedure on a vehicle with electric shifting, it is necessary to disconnect the electrical connector and release the wire from the clamps.
6. Unscrew the bolts securing the bearing housing to the engine sump.
7. Remove the casing from the pan, being careful not to damage the seal located on the casing on the pan side.
8. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Make sure the casing is level with the pan. Tighten the bearing housing mounting bolts to the specified torque.
